About me

David Folaranmi is a Christian and fervent Lover of Jesus Christ. The recipient of several awards home and abroad, David is a qualified Economist, a Public Speaker, a Writer and a Certified Counsellor with specialty in addiction and substance abuse recovery. With a masters degree in Applied Social Psychology, he earned his Economics degree in the year 2007 from Covenant University, as well as a Post graduate diploma in International Management from the prestigious Brunel University, United Kingdom. David is a trained United Nations Officer on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and has had further trainings with WHO, EU, Columbo, ‘Drug Advisory Program' (DAP). A substance use educator and a seasoned public servant, whose interests lies within counselling, psychology, mental health issues, understanding behavioural patterns, addiction counselling and rehabilitation with an aim of providing better lives for youths and young adults. David is a highly-sort-after speaker, a trained mental health coach, and known among peers as the Peculiar Man. Mr. David Folaranmi is the founder of the David Folaranmi Foundation andas well as the Executive Director of the Live Free Renewal Center. He is a strong advocate for drug abuse awareness and drug use policy reforms. After completing a very rigorous training, he is now a certified member of the John Maxwell team. A member of the Association of Advocates Against Alcohol Harm in Nigeria (ASAAHN), Community Intervention Network on Drugs (CIND). He is also a member of the International Society for Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) Nigerian Chapter, and an ambassador for the Drug Free World. David Folaranmi the value adding enthusiast is highly passionate about helping others. This is evident in his daily life. He has been featured on several mass media houses; NTA, AIT, African Magic, Nigeria Info, Uwana Radio, Television Continental, Sun Newspaper, to name a few. Having attended several trainings from institutions at home and abroad on mental health, addictions, counselling and leadership, including trainings from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Oklahoma his most recent is from the University of Washington where he embarked on a training on mental health. Mr. David Folaranmi is married to Mrs. Nnenna Temi Folaranmi and they are happily blessed with 2 daughters
